A Rúa considers installing speed cameras to curb traffic violations

The municipality of A Rúa is considering the installation of traffic cameras to combat speeding in various areas of the town. Mayor María González Albert noted that the issue is widespread and particularly concerning in zones frequented by families and children, such as A Rúa Vella, the Campo de San Roque playground, and O Aguillón.

Local authorities have attempted physical interventions, such as installing speed bumps in O Aguillón, but the mayor stated that police presence alone is insufficient due to limited resources. She emphasized that much of the problem stems from a lack of individual responsibility and driver education regarding urban speed limits.
