A Veiga celebrates festivities in honor of Santa María Nai

A Veiga is hosting a multi-day celebration in honor of Santa María Nai, running from September 5 through September 8, 2026. The festivities combine traditional Galician culture, music, and community activities.

Initial events included a Tute championship, storytelling, and tavern singing accompanied by local gastronomy such as Galician broth with faba loba and garlic soup. The schedule continues with musical performances, including the orchestra Triunfo and a concert by Sonido Galaico at Praia dos Franceses as part of the V NOVE festival.

The celebrations culminate on September 8, the feast day of Santa María Nai, with a mass and procession, a bowling championship, and a performance by the orchestra Saudade. Children's activities, including face painting and inflatable games, are available throughout the period at the Municipal Pavilion.
