A1 motorway accident causes 7 km traffic jam toward Firenze
A multi-vehicle accident on the A1 motorway near kilometer 344 has caused significant traffic disruptions for motorists traveling toward Firenze on Monday, August 24. The incident has resulted in a 7 km traffic jam between Monte San Savino and Valdarno.
As of midday, travel times have increased by approximately 29 minutes, with average transit times reaching 53 minutes. Clearing operations are currently underway by Autostrade per l’Italia to restore normal traffic flow.
To avoid the congestion, drivers heading toward Firenze are advised to exit at Arezzo and rejoin the motorway at Valdarno via the SR69. Alternatively, long-distance travelers can exit at Valdichiana, follow the SS326 Siena-Bettolle link toward Siena, and rejoin the motorway at Firenze Impruneta.
