A1 motorway expansion involves night works in Switzerland

Construction work on the A1 motorway between Wangen an der Aare and Luterbach will involve night shifts from October 25 to December 11, 2026. The project is part of an expansion to increase the motorway to six lanes.

During this period, traffic management at the Wangen an der Aare junction will be adjusted to accommodate construction progress. Additionally, crews will perform winter preparations on the construction site by moving concrete separation elements.

Work is scheduled to take place nightly between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM, with Sunday shifts beginning at 9:00 PM. Drivers may experience noise and bright construction lighting during these hours. Reserve work nights are scheduled for December 13 to December 18, 2026.
