Weert fair uses renewable generators to manage power grid limits
The annual fair in Weert is proceeding despite local power grid limitations. Because the city center's fixed network lacks sufficient capacity for the fair's peak loads, the municipality is utilizing HVO100 generators. These diesel generators run on 100 percent renewable fuel made from waste products like vegetable oils and animal fats to ensure a safe and reliable power supply.
In addition to energy management, local authorities are strictly enforcing parking regulations during the event. Special enforcement officers (boa’s) are issuing fines to motorists parking on green strips along the Noordkade. Under code R406, parking on public greenery without a permit carries a fine of 130 euros, plus administrative fees, totaling approximately 139 euros.
