A2 motorway toll increases scheduled for September 11

Starting September 11, toll fees will increase on the concessionary section of the A2 motorway between Nowy Tomyśl and Konin. The price hikes, implemented by Autostrada Wielkopolska S.A., will affect all three toll collection points: Nowy Tomyśl – Poznań, Poznań – Września, and Września – Konin.

Manual toll rates will rise by 1 to 10 PLN depending on the vehicle category. For example, passenger car fees will increase by 1 PLN to 41 PLN per section, while heavy transport vehicles will face significantly higher costs, with some exceeding 400 PLN. This marks the third price increase within a 12-month period. To mitigate costs, the operator will maintain current lower rates for drivers using the electronic videotolling system.

The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has expressed concern regarding these frequent increases, warning that higher costs may drive drivers onto local roads, potentially compromising road safety and increasing congestion on non-highway routes. Autostrada Wielkopolska justified the decision by citing rising maintenance costs and the need for continued infrastructure investment, noting that nearly one billion PLN has been spent on the route over the last decade.
