A24 Announces Release Dates for Jesse Eisenberg's Film 'The Debut

A24 has scheduled a limited theatrical opening for Jesse Eisenberg’s directorial project, The Debut, on December 11, 2026, with a nationwide expansion on Christmas Day, 2026. The musical drama, inspired by Eisenberg’s own community‑theater experiences, follows a housewife cast in a local production and will be screened at several fall film festivals before its theatrical run.

The film features Oscar winner Julianne Moore, two‑time nominee Paul Giamatti, Halle Bailey, Cara Buono and Eisenberg himself, who also wrote, directed and produces. The cast also includes other Oscar nominees, and the producing team lists Emma Stone, Dave McCary and Ali Herting, with Ryan Heller as executive producer. A24 plans to use the same release strategy it employed for previous awards‑contending titles such as The Brutalist and The Whale.
