Robert Pattinson stars in A24 thriller ‘Primetime’

The A24 psychological thriller ‘Primetime’ has premiered at film festivals, including Venice and London. Starring Robert Pattinson, the film is a dramatized exploration of the moral complexities surrounding the NBC program ‘To Catch a Predator’. Pattinson, who also serves as a producer, portrays journalist Chris Hansen, the figure central to the mid-2000s show that used decoys to expose pedophiles.

Director Lance Oppenheim and writer Ajon Singh collaborated on the project, which Pattinson described as feeling like a ‘grenade’ due to its intense and original script. The film examines the ethics of media exploitation and the pursuit of justice through televised confrontations. While receiving critical interest, the portrayal of the real-life subject has reportedly caused friction with the actual host.
