A24 releases horror film “Backrooms” directed by Kane Parsons

A24 has released the horror movie “Backrooms: A No‑Place”, based on the internet creepypasta that imagines endless office corridors. The film is directed by Kane Parsons, who first popularized the concept with a 2022 YouTube series, and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass and others. The story follows characters who fall into a dimension of infinite fluorescent‑lit rooms and must survive mysterious forces.

The movie premiered on 28 May in Brazil and on 28 May in Portugal, marking the first cinematic adaptation of the viral “Backrooms” myth that originated from a 2019 Reddit image and later grew through user‑generated lore and videos.
