A24 teases new Jeremy Saulnier thriller ‘Slayground’

A24 has begun teasing its upcoming thriller ‘Slayground’, directed by Jeremy Saulnier. A mysterious teaser featuring grainy security camera footage is currently playing ahead of theatrical screenings of ‘Resident Evil’. The footage depicts a dimly lit haunted house attraction, which serves as the film’s primary setting.

Previously referred to by the working title ‘October’, the film follows a fugitive, played by Cory Michael Smith, who becomes a suspect in a mass murder investigation. As he attempts to evade law enforcement, the narrative unfolds within the confines of a fictional immersive haunted house. The project features an ensemble cast including Imogen Poots, James Badge Dale, Matty Matheson, Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, Young Mazino, and Stephen Root.

Reports indicate that the score is composed by Oscar winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. While an official release date has not been confirmed, the teaser suggests a fall release. A countdown clock on the film’s official website currently points toward a potential trailer reveal in approximately 30 days.
