A24 to distribute SCP Foundation horror film in 2027

A24 has acquired the worldwide rights to produce a feature film based on the SCP Foundation, a massive collaborative horror and science-fiction universe originating from internet lore. The project, titled ‘V/H/S: SCP’, is being developed in partnership with Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios, with a theatrical release targeted for 2027.

The SCP Foundation began as a collaborative mythology on the 4chan forum in 2007 and has since grown into a sprawling library of anomalous entities and phenomena. The film will be co-produced by Roy Lee and Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures, alongside Josh Goldbloom and Michael Schreiber, both of whom have worked on previous installments of the V/H/S horror series.

Plot details remain confidential. The move follows A24’s previous success with ‘Backrooms’, a film based on internet-born creepypasta that grossed over $394 million worldwide.
