A3 motorway facing closures and maintenance in Germany
Major infrastructure maintenance and roadworks are causing significant traffic disruptions on the A3 motorway in Germany.
In the southern section, nighttime partial closures are scheduled at the Aicha vorm Wald junction from October 13 to 16, 2026. These closures affect both entries and exits for traffic heading toward Regensburg. Drivers are advised to use the Garham–Vilshofen junction as an alternative. This is part of an ongoing project involving asphalt renewal and bridge repairs between Aicha vorm Wald and Passau-Nord.
In the northern section, a full closure of the Bad Honnef/Linz junction toward Oberhausen is scheduled from the evening of Friday, October 9, until the morning of Monday, October 12, 2026. This measure is part of a large-scale modernization project by Autobahn GmbH Rheinland to renew road surfaces, drainage systems, and safety barriers between the Köln-Heumar triangle and Bad Honnef.
