A30 roadworks to cause long-term delays and diversions

National Highways has initiated a series of safety upgrades on the A30, leading to significant traffic disruptions. Following initial full closures in early August between Five Lanes and Kennards House, the project has transitioned into a phase of ongoing restrictions.

From September 7 through March 2027, motorists should expect single-lane traffic in each direction between Kennards House and Five Lanes, with speed limits set at 40mph and 50mph. Drivers have already reported increased travel times, with some journeys between Bodmin and Launceston exceeding one hour.

Additional scheduled disruptions include a westbound closure on September 23 from 9pm to 6am and a full two-way closure on September 30 during the same overnight hours. Furthermore, the eastbound side of the Polyphant junction into Holyway Cross will remain closed until November.
