A38 junction near Saltash to undergo major upgrade, causing three weeks of night‑time disruption
Montel Civil Engineering announced a three‑week programme of improvement works on the A38 at the Stoketon Cross and Trematon Lane junction near Saltash, Cornwall. Night‑time traffic management will be in place from 30 July to 21 August while the road is resurfaced, drainage upgraded and new Vodafone ducting installed.
The project is split into two phases. Phase 1 runs on 30‑31 July with four‑way temporary traffic lights in operation while resurfacing proceeds. Phase 2 runs on weeknights from 3 August to 21 August, with traffic management between 20:00 and 05:00 each night. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, plan alternative routes and expect delays.
Montel said the works are essential and have been scheduled overnight to minimise impact during peak periods. A company spokesperson thanked residents, businesses and road users for their patience and assured that the improvements will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.
