A4 motorway acoustic screen project receives nine bids

Nine companies have submitted bids for a project to construct 2.5 kilometers of acoustic screens along the A4 motorway in Poland, specifically on the section between the Opole Południe and Krapkowice junctions. The project, managed by the Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad (GDDKiA), aims to mitigate noise levels that periodically exceed permissible limits for nearby residential areas.

The scope of work includes building new screens ranging from three to six meters in height using absorbing and reflecting panels. The contract also involves dismantling existing barriers, adding new road barriers, and installing drainage elements such as triangular gutters.

All submitted bids fall within the project's gross budget of approximately 17 million PLN. The lowest bid was submitted by MR-CAT at approximately 12.1 million PLN, while the highest bid reached approximately 15.3 million PLN. GDDKiA will evaluate the offers based on price (60%), the experience of the construction manager (20%), and the extension of the warranty period (20%). The selected contractor will have 15 months to complete the task.
