Cologne-Mülheim police hunt suspect after shots fired at residential building

Police in Cologne-Mülheim are searching for a suspect following multiple shots fired at a residential building on a Friday morning. The incident occurred around 6:30 AM in the Windmühlenstraße area.

Investigators discovered bullet holes in the window front of a ground-floor restaurant and in a window of an apartment above. A ten-year-old child was sleeping in the affected apartment at the time of the shooting but remained uninjured. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a person approximately 1.75 meters tall, wearing dark clothing, who fled the scene on foot toward Auenweg. A murder commission has been established to investigate the motives and determine if the incident is linked to previous shootings in the area, which police have previously associated with organized crime.
