A59 motorway renovation to begin in Germany

Autobahn GmbH has announced major renovation works on the A59 motorway in Germany, scheduled to begin on October 2. The project involves the complete renewal of road surfaces, bridge repairs, and modernization of drainage systems and technical equipment on a twelve-kilometer stretch between the Düsseldorf-Süd and Monheim-Süd motorway junctions.

Starting October 2, the area between the Monheim junction and Düsseldorf will be progressively closed to set up the construction site. Actual construction work is expected to begin on October 5 and continue for approximately eight months. To manage traffic, several diversion routes will be implemented, primarily utilizing the A542, A3, and A46 motorways. Traffic management measures include the use of demand-controlled traffic lights and congestion warning systems to maintain flow during the renovation period.
