The A6 motorway and the RD 980 road were closed in both directions on Wednesday morning, September 23, 2026, following a gas leak from a heavy goods vehicle near Bierre-lès-Semur in Côte-d’Or.

The incident began around 9:30 a.m. when a tire on a cosmetics transport truck burst, damaging its natural gas vehicle (GNV) reservoir. Due to the risk of explosion, emergency services mobilized approximately 20 firefighters from Semur-en-Auxois, Précy-sous-Thil, Montbard, and Dijon to drain the tank and secure the area.

Traffic was disrupted for several hours, with the motorway remaining closed until approximately 1:00 p.m. when the vehicle was removed and full circulation resumed.
