A7 motorway near Hildesheim closed after heavy load breakdown

A 148-ton heavy load transport caused a multi-hour full closure of the A7 motorway near the Hildesheim junction during the night of Wednesday. The vehicle, which was carrying a component for a wind turbine, suffered a technical defect while traveling through a two-lane construction zone.

Due to the extreme width of the oversized transport, following traffic was unable to pass, resulting in significant congestion. A specialized towing company was required to move the massive vehicle to the nearest service station. The closure was officially lifted at approximately 03:10.
