RSC Anderlecht secures decisive victory over Westerlo
RSC Anderlecht ended their recent slump with a commanding 4-1 victory against Westerlo at Lotto Park. Following a heavy defeat to KAA Gent, manager Vitor Bruno implemented five changes to the starting lineup to address the team's crisis.
After a slow start, Anderlecht scored three goals in a six-minute blitz late in the first half. Cvetkovic opened the scoring, followed by goals from Mario Stroeykens and Aasgaard. Ambros added a fourth in the second half to seal the win. The victory provides much-needed breathing room for Bruno ahead of Anderlecht's upcoming European match against Salzburg.
In other Belgian Pro League action, Union Saint-Gilloise secured a 2-1 away win against SK Beveren despite playing with ten men after an early red card for Aquino. Meanwhile, AA Gent remains at the top of the league following their 4-0 win over Anderlecht, though coach Rik De Mil noted that players Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Josu茅 Vergara remain fitness concerns.
