AA Gent set for Conference League clash with Ukraine's FK LNZ Cherkasy

AA Gent will face Ukrainian club FK LNZ Cherkasy in the second‑qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. The first leg is scheduled in Płock, Poland, because the Ukrainian side cannot host the match at home. Club officials Kjeld Fort and Michel Louwagie stressed the importance of a European campaign, noting that recent signings Christian Burgess and Laszlo Benes were brought in to strengthen the squad. They also highlighted the potential €6 million reward for reaching the league phase, saying “Six millions d'euros si l'on rejoint la phase de ligue, ce n’est pas rien.”

Around 110 Gent supporters and roughly 20 fans of Cherkasy are expected to attend the match. The club hopes the new players will help secure qualification and the accompanying financial gains.
