Brazil agribusiness sees growth in açaí and grain production

Brazil is seeing significant growth in its agricultural sectors, particularly in açaí production and grain yields. Açaí production now exceeds 1.7 million tons annually, generating over R$ 1 billion in value. The state of Pará accounts for approximately 85% of this volume. Driven by a 15% annual increase in consumption, the fruit is transitioning from a regional symbol to a strategic agribusiness product with growing demand in international markets, including Europe and the United States.

In the food service sector, the popularity of açaí is fueling expansion in the franchising market. Specialized networks and various business models, such as kiosks and delivery, are emerging to meet consumer demand for healthy, functional foods.

Additionally, Bahia is projected to reach a record grain harvest of 13.3 million tons in 2026. This growth is largely driven by soybean production, which is expected to reach 8.93 million tons. The state has also achieved the highest average soybean productivity in Brazil, attributed to precision agriculture, improved irrigation, and favorable climatic conditions.
