Aachen launches Christmas edition of evening event funding

The city of Aachen has announced a new Christmas edition of its ‘Guten Abend, Aachen’ funding program. Since 2023, the fund has supported creative evening events, such as concerts in restaurants, theater shows in shops, and street festivals, to increase city center vitality.

The new Christmas edition specifically aims to support attractive lighting concepts in shopping streets and district centers. According to Kai Hennes, head of Aachen's city management, the initiative seeks to maintain a festive atmosphere and alleviate the financial challenges faced by retail and gastronomy sectors in funding holiday decorations.
