AADE Governor presents Greek tax reforms at IMF workshop

Giorgos Pitsilis, Governor of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), presented the Greek experience regarding tax administration transformation during an international workshop in Islamabad. The event, titled ‘Reforms for a Modern and Growth-Friendly Tax System in Pakistan’, was organized by the Government of Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Pitsilis highlighted that successful digital transformation requires strong institutions, stable strategy, and investment in human resources. He noted that the establishment of AADE in 2017 was a decisive step toward a modern administrative model characterized by functional independence and accountability.

Key digital reforms discussed include the myDATA platform for transaction transparency, the interconnection of cash registers with POS systems, the implementation of digital delivery notes for goods traceability, and the automation of VAT refunds through risk analysis systems.
