AADE tax inspections proceed despite union strike in Greece

Tax inspections under the AADE ‘Summer Operation’ proceeded as scheduled on the first day of a declared strike-abstention by the POE-DOU union. Despite the industrial action, which was set to run from August 17 to August 26, audit teams maintained their presence on the roads, particularly in major tourist destinations during the peak summer season.

Reports indicate that the planned inspections were carried out without significant disruptions. Only two isolated instances of non-compliance were noted: one employee claimed participation in the strike while on leave, and another participated in an inspection but refused to drive the official service vehicle. The strike specifically targeted preventive tax audits and the operation of official vehicles.
