The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) in Greece is set to launch a new cycle of property auctions on September 16. The auction includes 43 properties, ranging from small warehouses and agricultural plots to large industrial facilities and residential buildings. The properties are located across various regions, including Attica, Mykonos, Drama, Thessaloniki, Chania, and Chalkidiki. Initial offering prices start at 1,000 euros and reach up to 1.247 million euros.

This move is part of an intensified effort to collect overdue tax debts, which currently exceed 114 billion euros. More than 2.5 million taxpayers are currently facing potential bank account seizures and asset freezes.

To mitigate these measures, AADE is promoting an emergency debt settlement plan that allows for payments in up to 72 installments for debts incurred through the end of 2023. Applications for this plan must be submitted digitally via the myAADE platform by December 31, 2026. Despite the potential reach of this program, which could affect approximately 1.3 million individuals and 284,000 businesses, only 11,000 people have utilized the platform to settle their arrears so far.
