Čačak citizens protest after leak of 1,600 residents' personal data
Dozens of citizens protested in front of the police administration in Čačak following the public leak of personal data belonging to 1,600 residents. The information was circulated via social media in a document titled ‘Provera blokadera’ (Blocker Verification).
The leaked document reportedly contains names, dates of birth, phone numbers, home addresses, and voting locations. It also includes political affiliations and labels certain individuals as ‘blockers’. The list includes a wide range of citizens, such as students, doctors, teachers, journalists, and opposition politicians.
Civil activist Nevena Trifunović stated that criminal complaints have been filed with the police against the Republic Electoral Commission, city administration employees, and certain pollsters. The complaints allege the unauthorized use of personal data and unauthorized entry into private properties. The police have forwarded the reports to the competent Prosecutor's Office.
