Čačak to host KOMUNA 2026 alternative culture festival
The new independent and non-profit festival KOMUNA 2026 is set to debut in Čačak on September 11 and 12. The event aims to merge contemporary literature with the alternative music scene, creating a platform for modern artistic creation and independent culture.
Organized by a group of local cultural workers and enthusiasts, the festival is an acronym for Culture, Consecration, Thought, Art, Independence, and Alternative. The initiative intends to eventually evolve into an Independent Center for Culture in Čačak, serving as a year-round hub for artists and audiences.
The program is structured into two segments: each evening begins with a podcast-style discussion focused on poetry, literature, and the creative process, followed by a concert featuring alternative music. The first edition will include performers from Novi Sad, Belgrade, and local Čačak acts. To fund the event without institutional support, organizers have launched a crowdfunding campaign.
