Aakash Bhardwaj to represent India in 10m Air Pistol at Asian Games

Indian shooter Aakash Bhardwaj is set to represent India in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol event at the upcoming 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. A late bloomer who began shooting at age 21, Bhardwaj transitioned to the sport from athletics and rugby to avoid contact injuries.

Bhardwaj’s journey to the Asian Games was marked by significant financial hardship. His father, a commercial driver, and his brother, Subham, provided the necessary financial support for his training and equipment. During his formative training period, Bhardwaj often cycled 14 kilometers to reach the Marudhara Sports Shooting Academy and self-managed his conditioning routines through intensive daily drills.
