Aakash Chopra selects ultimate World Test XI

Former Indian batter and commentator Aakash Chopra has announced his ultimate World Test XI, based on player performances during the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. His selection has drawn attention for the omission of prominent Indian players Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jasprit Bumrah.

Chopra cited a recent dip in form as the reason for leaving out Jaiswal, opting instead for Travis Head and KL Rahul as the opening pair. Bumrah was excluded due to a focus on statistical output within the current WTC cycle, noting his limited participation and the impact of flat pitches on fast bowlers' numbers.

The selected lineup includes Joe Root at number three, followed by Shubman Gill and Harry Brook. Rishabh Pant was chosen as the wicketkeeper, with Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja rounding out the all-rounder positions.
