Aakash Chopra suggests tactical changes for India in second T20I against New Zealand
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has recommended strategic adjustments to India's playing XI ahead of the second T20I against New Zealand in Christchurch, scheduled for October 24.
Following New Zealand's four-wicket victory in the series opener, Chopra argued that India must include a specialist spinner, specifically suggesting either Kuldeep Yadav or Varun Chakaravarthy. He noted that New Zealand spinners Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell effectively “choked” the Indian batters during the first match.
Chopra observed that the pitch in Christchurch is expected to remain consistent, potentially becoming more spin-friendly for the second game. However, he expressed skepticism regarding whether India will make the change, noting the team's tendency to prioritize batting depth down to the number eight position, which often results in a shortage of either fast bowlers or specialist spinners.
