Aalsmeer court upholds three-month closure of Gideon Italiaander's shop

A Dutch court has upheld the decision by the municipality of Aalsmeer to close the shop of entrepreneur Gideon Italiaander for three months. The ruling follows an attempt by the entrepreneur to block the closure through an emergency procedure.

Authorities previously discovered prohibited items during inspections, including stun guns, knives, pepper spray, and cannabis-related products, as well as counterfeit clothing and watches. Additionally, the investigation identified the presence of two employees working illegally. While the entrepreneur argued that these items were stored in a closed area and not offered for sale in the shop, the judge ruled that the presence of such goods and labor violations created a legitimate fear that the shop's continued operation posed a serious threat to public order.
