Aalsmeer seeks new member for Naming Commission

The municipality of Aalsmeer is seeking a new member for its Naming Commission. Established in 2007, the commission advises the board of mayor and aldermen on naming new streets, squares, and other public spaces.

The commission aims to select names that align with the identity, history, and environment of Aalsmeer and Kudelstaart. Proper naming is considered essential for location recognizability, accessibility, public order, safety, and accurate address registration in the Basisregistratie Adressen en Gebouwen (BAG).

The municipality is looking for a resident with an affinity for geography, history, cultural history, or urban planning. The commission consists of three community members supported by municipal employees and an official secretary. Interested individuals can submit an application to secretary Maxime Ansems by October 5.
