Aalst guides 359 welfare recipients into employment

The city of Aalst has successfully exceeded its targets under the Local Activation Pact, guiding 359 welfare recipients into employment between December 2024 and March 2026. This figure represents 28 percent of the total number of welfare recipients in the city.

Social Affairs Alderman Katrien Beulens attributed the success to intensive personal guidance, strong cooperation with the VDAB, and effective contact with employers. The city's performance reached 130 percent of its goal, placing it among the five best-performing central cities in Flanders. The program utilizes specialized staff, including trajectory guides and a job hunter, to assist individuals in transitioning from financial support to sustainable employment.
