Aalst hosts 17th edition of Cirk! circus festival

The 17th edition of the Cirk! festival transformed the city of Aalst into an open-air theater over a three-day period. The event featured 94 acts distributed across 16 different squares and locations, attracting approximately 35,000 visitors.

The program included a diverse range of contemporary circus disciplines, street theater, acrobatics, and live music. Notable performances included ‘D’Or et de Sang’ by Tempo d’Eole, which featured animals, and ‘Mon RoYaume’ by Les P’tits Bras. Despite some scheduling shifts due to rain on Saturday, the festival saw high attendance, with several shows selling out completely.

This edition highlighted local talent, with 19 Belgian companies participating. This included performances by students from Circusschool Sarakasi, ranging from young artists presenting their first creations to more experienced groups.
