Aam Aadmi Party alleges conspiracy over 58 businesses registered at its office

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged a conspiracy by the central government to defame the party ahead of upcoming elections. AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj claimed that 58 businesses were registered at the party’s national headquarters at 1, Canning Lane, New Delhi, between July and September this year.

Bhardwaj stated that these registrations appear to be an attempt to create a narrative that the AAP operates shell companies to receive illegal donations. He characterized the move as a tactic used by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to launch smear campaigns before elections, citing previous allegations regarding funding and excise scams that he claims did not hold up in court.

The party has filed formal complaints regarding the matter with the Principal Chief Commissioner of GST, the Commissioner of the Department of Trade and Taxes, and the Delhi Police, requesting an investigation into how these registrations were processed.
