Aanand L Rai confirms original cast for Tanu Weds Manu 3

Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has stated that any future installments of the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ franchise will only proceed with original lead actors Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan. This clarification follows recent reports suggesting that a third film might feature a new cast and an independent storyline.

Rai, who directed the first two successful romantic comedies in 2011 and 2015, emphasized that the series is inseparable from its primary stars. He noted that regardless of whether there are three, four, or five films, the project must include Madhavan and Ranaut.

During a discussion at the Jagran Film Festival, Rai also addressed his filmmaking philosophy, stating that he prioritizes compelling stories over production budgets. He remarked that he is a “slave to the stories” and focuses on whether a project excites him personally, whether it requires a modest or substantial investment.
