The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) has concluded its 24th Annual Shari'ah Boards Conference in Bahrain. Supported by the Central Bank of Bahrain, the event hosted approximately 1,000 experts in person and over 4,000 participants online.

The conference focused on harmonizing Shari'ah opinion and improving compliance governance within the global Islamic finance industry. Specialized sessions addressed technical issues such as the integration of AAOIFI Shari'ah Standards with legal systems, the direct costs of lending, dual-tranche syndicated financings, and the impact of new circumstances on financial contracts.

Keynote speakers included Shaikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the AAOIFI Board of Trustees; Dr. Ali Yassin Sheikh, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Somalia; and Dr. Rabiu Olowo, CEO of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
