AAP leaders condemn Delhi Lakshmi Yojana eligibility criteria as exclusionary

Aam Aadmi Party representatives have accused the BJP‑led Delhi government of designing welfare scheme rules that block most women from receiving benefits. MLA Anurag Dhanda criticised the eligibility limit of 2,400 units of annual electricity consumption for the Mahila Samman scheme, saying it would exclude a large share of Delhi households. He called the BJP “a very confused party” and likened its situation to the final years of the UPA‑II government. Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj attacked the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, a ₹2,500‑per‑month cash transfer for women, arguing that the cabinet‑approved criteria are deliberately restrictive. Bhardwaj described the intent as “malicious” and said the scheme was promised before the elections but now effectively denies benefits to most women.
