AAP leader Sri Chand Vohra arrested for alleged property encroachment
Delhi Police have arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Council member Sri Chand Vohra in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, regarding the alleged encroachment of property belonging to a Dalit party worker.
Rakesh Kumar, an active AAP worker in Jaitpur Extension, filed a complaint alleging that Vohra dispossessed him of his property. The complaint states that approximately three weeks ago, Vohra allegedly threw Kumar’s belongings from the first floor of the property onto the street. Following an investigation, police added penal sections related to an alleged conspiracy to take possession of the plot, which carry a maximum punishment of 10 years.
The incident has sparked political tension, with the Delhi BJP criticizing AAP leadership, including Arvind Kejriwal and Saurabh Bharadwaj, for their silence on the matter. BJP representatives have called for the expulsion of Vohra and his wife, Hema Vohra—a current municipal councillor—from the party and demanded the restoration of Kumar’s property.
