AAP legislators challenge Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir governments
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators have raised significant concerns regarding governance and unfulfilled promises in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
In the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, AAP MLAs challenged the state government over delayed public infrastructure projects, specifically citing incomplete road works and rising fatalities. Legislators also demanded accountability regarding the enforcement of social obligations by private hospitals and questioned whether the administration had misled the House on policy implementation.
In Jammu and Kashmir, AAP MLA Mehraj Malik criticized the government for failing to provide relief in areas such as unemployment, education, healthcare, and the regularization of casual laborers. Malik noted that despite two years in power, tangible improvements have not reached the public.
Additionally, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Singh Seechewal criticized the Punjab government’s inability to clean the polluted Buddha Nullah in Ludhiana. Despite significant spending and the registration of 150 FIRs against violators, Seechewal highlighted the ongoing discharge of sewage and industrial waste into the water body.
