A$AP Rocky Describes Shooting at Rihanna's Beverly Hills Home as 'Scary' and 'Unprovoked

In March, a gunman opened fire on Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion, the family’s primary residence in Los Angeles. A$AP Rocky, who lives with the singer and their three children, spoke to VIBE about the incident. He called it “f***ed up,” “hurtful,” “scary,” and “unprovoked,” saying it “took away a lot of peace and happiness.”

Rocky noted that despite the attack, he feels safe in New York and emphasized the long‑standing presence of loyal fans, contrasting them with “mentally challenged” or “mentally ill” individuals who might pose a threat. He also discussed fatherhood, stressing the importance of emotional presence for his sons RZA, Riot and daughter Rocki.

The alleged shooter, 35‑year‑old Ivanna Ortiz of Florida, is being held in jail awaiting a competency hearing. She has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling, has pleaded not guilty and faces a potential life sentence if convicted.
