AAP targets BJP over Punjab drug supply and crime crackdown

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has intensified its political critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding drug trafficking, claiming that the source of drugs entering Punjab has shifted. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated that while 80% of drugs previously entered Punjab from Pakistan, the proportion has dropped to 20% due to anti-drone systems. He alleged that 80% of current drug supplies now originate from BJP-ruled states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, specifically citing Mundra Port in Gujarat as a major entry point.

Concurrently, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government reported significant progress in its crackdown on organized crime. AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu announced that the Punjab Police have successfully brought back more than a dozen gangsters from foreign countries. This includes the recent deportation of Karamveer Singh, an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, from Canada, who was arrested at a Delhi airport before being transferred to Punjab by the Anti-Gangster Task Force.
