Aardman expands animation training and immersive entertainment projects
Aardman, the Bristol-based animation studio, is expanding its educational and experiential reach through several key initiatives. The Aardman Academy, the studio’s talent development arm, has established a global Partnership Programme for universities. The Northern School of Art has become the first UK Partner, allowing students in animation, illustration, and production design to benefit from masterclasses, professional feedback, and studio visits.
In preparation for its 50th anniversary in 2026, Aardman is also focusing on immersive entertainment. The studio will present an experiential programme at the IAAPA Expo Europe in London. Upcoming projects include ‘Larger Than Life: Starring Wallace & Gromit, Shaun and More’, a 360-degree immersive experience at London’s Lightroom scheduled for October 2026, and the ‘Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends’ exhibition at Young V&A, which is slated for a global tour starting in spring 2027.
