Aargau Police Detain Two Foreign Nationals in Separate Crimes
On 21 July 2026, the Canton Police of Aargau arrested two men without permanent residence in Switzerland in unrelated incidents.
In Neuenhof, a 42‑year‑old Romanian was caught after attempting to enter an apartment through an open terrace door. The resident confronted him, he fled on a bicycle, and a subsequent search led officers to detain him on suspicion of intrusion.
In Wettingen, police responded to a burglary at a ticket‑machine. A police dog tracked a 43‑year‑old Albanian suspect, and a second suspect, a 39‑year‑old Romanian, was later bitten by the dog and taken to hospital before being detained. Both arrests are under ongoing investigations.
