Aarhus announces new LYS1 multicenter project in Højbjerg

Aarhus Municipality and the Fonden Lyseng Idrætscenter have selected the winning project for LYS1 in Højbjerg. The new multicenter is designed to consolidate sports facilities, fitness areas, a library, citizen services, a local archive, and community association life under a single roof.

The project is supported by over 134 million kroner from Aarhus Municipality, Fonden Lyseng Idrætscenter, and two additional private foundations. Construction will be carried out by BASE Entreprenør in collaboration with Kjaer & Richter, Arkplan, and Viggo Madsen. The LYS1 center is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2029.
