Aarhus Bay hosts three races at 2026 ILCA 6 Youth Worlds
The 2026 ILCA 6 Youth World Championships saw a return to racing on Aarhus Bay after a delayed start on Friday. Stronger and more consistent westerly winds, ranging from 12 to 15 knots and reaching up to 23 knots, allowed for the completion of three races for both the men’s and women’s fleets.
Following a slow start where only one women’s race was completed, the championship is now moving closer to its original schedule. Swedish sailor Adrian Domack noted that while the strong winds made for a challenging and difficult day on the water, the full day of racing was a welcome development.
Race Officer Heinzy reported that the conditions provided a significant test for the sailors. The local race team managed the event efficiently, with only three general recalls recorded during the day's competition.
