Aarhus N motorway junction closed for asphalt work, causing three‑week traffic disruptions

From 2 August to 21 August 2026 the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) will carry out asphalt laying and install safety strips at the Aarhus N interchange on the E45 north of the junction. The work will require closing several entrance and exit ramps – the 46 Hinnerup southbound exit, the southbound exit to Skejby/Grenaa, and the westbound entry from Aarhusvej towards Aalborg and Kolding – for the entire period.

Traffic on the main E45 carriageway will remain open but will be restricted to narrow lanes with reduced speed limits. Drivers are urged to expect longer travel times, especially during peak hours, to follow posted signs and to keep abreast of traffic information.
