Aarhus police clear activist occupation at Åbrinken

Police cleared an occupied area at Åbrinken in Aarhus on Tuesday morning. The operation targeted a site where activists had been occupying the area and constructing treehouses in the canopy since late August.

During the raid, police arrested 15 individuals. Four activists who had climbed into the treehouses were eventually brought down using a crane. Following the police action, municipal contractors began felling trees and removing the structures built by the activists.

A group of 20 to 30 demonstrators and supporters gathered in front of the Aarhus Police Headquarters on Tuesday morning to protest the clearing and the felling of the trees.
