Aarhus villa owner plans demolition of luxury estate

Billionaire Martin Bek-Nielsen plans to demolish the villa located at Strandvænget 5B in Risskov, an estate previously identified as one of the most expensive villas in Aarhus. The property was purchased earlier this year for nearly 50 million DKK. This follows the family's acquisition of the neighboring property at Strandvænget 5A for 45 million DKK, bringing the total investment for the two addresses to approximately 95 million DKK.

Aarhus Municipality has granted permission for the demolition, despite the villa recently receiving SAVE registration, which designates it as a building of preservation value. The plan involves merging the two plots and constructing a smaller beach house as part of a unified garden landscape designed to restore the area to its pre-1960s appearance. Bek-Nielsen stated that the family has maintained a constructive dialogue with the municipality regarding these plans.
